[ Summary ] Vascular calcification is an independent predictive factor for the development of cardiovascular disease and mortality. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is known to be a powerful risk factor for vascular calcification. The risk of bone fracture is also higher and the low density of bone is associated with high vascular calcification in CKD patients. The management of CKD-MBD is a very important treatment in total CKD clinical management. The control of hyperphosphatemia is one of the most important modalities for the prevention of vascular calcification and fracture risk.
