[ Summary ] The growth hormone (GH) and IGF-I play an important role in not only bone growth but also bone remodeling. In patients with adult growth hormone deficiency, bone mineral density decreases, and the risk of fracture increases. In patients with acromegaly, bone mineral density increases, but the risk of fracture is also increased. It is important to diagnose and treat these conditions appropriately.
