[ Summary ] Osteoporosis, which often occurs in patients with type II diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, contributes to the deterioration of these diseases. It is difficult to predict the risk of bone fractures in patients with these diseases only by measuring the bone mineral density because secondary osteoporosis is related to the decline in bone quality more than primary osteoporosis. For physicians, it is very important to reduce the risk of bone fractures in these patients by cooperating with the Osteoporosis Liaison Service.
