[ Summary ] Regenerative medicine is widely envisaged as being an emerging field of advanced medicine that can treat acquired or congenital tissue defects. In the area of maxillofacial surgery, congenital anomalies, tissue defects caused by tumor excision or trauma, periodontal diseases, or loss of teeth are considered as topics of regenerative medicine. The maxillofacial area is expected to be applied to early clinical application, since it is lightly loaded than that of the limbs or trunk and does not require large tissues. In this chapter, I will explain the current situation and future prospects of cartilage regeneration in the maxillofacial areas.
