Title Roles of parathyroid hormone and fibroblast growth factor 23 in metabolic bone disease associated with chronic kidney disease
Publish Date 2015/01
Author Yasuo Imanishi Department of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Molecular Medicine, Osaka City University Graduate School of Medicine
[ Summary ] Both parathyroid hormone and fibroblast growth factor 23 have phosphaturic functions in the kidneys. Their circulating concentrations elevate during progression of chronic kidney disease. Elevations of these phosphaturic hormones may accelerate bone fragility in chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder.
