[ Summary ] Inherited tubular transport disorders comprise a group of diseases which lead to profound derangement of the homeostasis of electrolytes, minerals, and organic solutes. Elucidating the molecular basis for these generally rare disorders has provided important insights into disease pathogenesis as well as the complexities of normal renal transport physiology. This review focuses on the clinical features and recent molecular advances associated with mineral, glucose, uric acid and sodium transporter disorders.
