[ Summary ] Many observational studies have raised the possibility that vitamin D may be a longevity hormone for hemodialysis patients, non-dialyzed patients with chronic kidney disease, and the general population. Randomized controlled trials have been performed to test the effects of vitamin D on reno-protection, cardio-protection, infectious disease, and physical activity.
