[ Summary ] F-18 fluoride is a radioactive tracer which reflects bone metabolism and its uptake mechanism depends on both regional blood flow and osteoblastic activity. Detailed dynamic distribution of F-18 fluoride can be assessed quantitatively by compartment model analysis and many reports concerning its clinical utility have been issued in various diseases. Because of its high sensitivity and quantitativity, clinical use of F-18 fluoride PET is expected to increase in the future.
