[ Summary ] |
Magnesium is a primary essential mineral closely associated with the onset of type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome caused by lack of continued intake. Magnesium is used as a therapeutic agent for a long time. There are many compounds of magnesium, magnesium oxide and magnesium sulfate, which are often prescribed. Particularly in Japan, magnesium oxide is used primarily for antacid/laxative treatment for a long time. This formula is now prescribed for approximately 45 million patients per year. In Western countries, magnesium oxide is used due to its high levels of safety. It is considered to be suitable ethical drug and is also used for supplements and food additives. |
