[ Summary ] |
The causes of hypophosphatemia are decreased intestinal absorption, increased urinary excretion and intracellular shifts. In the case of increased urinary excretion of phosphate including XLH, ADHR, HHRH, TIO, and McCune-Albright syndrome, increased serum levels of FGF23 are important factors in understanding these diseases. However, family and growth history, clinical features, and if possible bone biopsies or histological examination of teeth are also useful in producing accurate diagnoses. |
