[ Summary ] | Vascular calcification is complicated in the patients with diabetic nephropathy in the early stage of the disease. Vascular calcification is accelerated by hyper-phosphatemia, an increase of calcium-phosphorus product, a decreased reactivity of insulin caused by an excessive increase of serum PTH level, and an increase of serum IDL level. And vascular calcification is suppressed by MPG, Fetuin-A, and OPG. It is important to control these factots for vascular calcification indicated abobe to prevent vascular calcification in the hemodialysis patients with diabetes mellitus. |
