[ Summary ] Bone micro-architecture is a key element of susceptibility to bone strength. With the progress of micro-focused X-ray computed tomography (micro-CT), it has become possible to evaluate the trabecular micro-architecture quantitatively, and three-dimensionally. In order to characterize the three-dimensional bone micro-architecture, useful parameters have been developed. Although micro-CT and specialized parameters are powerful tools to investigate the profile of bone structure, they can't estimate the dynamic histomorphometric parameters and cell features in bone. Thus, the combination micro-CT and other bone histomorphometric techniques provide us more information about profile of bone.
