[ Summary ] One of the crucial complications in patients undergoing hemodialysis is valvular disease. Although valvular disease includes mitral regurgitation, mitral sclerosis, aortic regurgitation, and aortic stenosis, the most frequent form in patients undergoing hemodialysis is aortic stenosis. Furthermore, specific characteristics of valvular disease in these patients are changes in cardiac parameters due to changes in fluid volume and valvular calcification. Considering these characteristics, the present guidelines should not be simply accepted, but the strategy for valvular disease in these patients should be decided depending on the clinical characteristics of each patient. It is very important to understand the clinical characteristics of each patient, and an appropriate treatment would improve of their prognosis.
