[ Summary ] Hemodialysis patients are in a state of chronic exercise shortage and sarcopenia, and renal rehabilitation has attracted attention for their prevention and improvement.
I experienced a case in which improvement of muscle cramps was observed through exercise therapy for patients who experienced muscle cramps during hemodialysis. Muscle cramps, which are complications of dialysis, are liable to occur due to excessive dehydration, low dry weights being set too low, blood pressure lowering, and the like, but they may be caused by a decrease in muscular strength. Muscle cramps in the lower limb may be improved by exercise therapy as part of renal rehabilitation.
