[ Summary ] Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in diabetic patients undergoing dialysis is characterized by stenosis/obstruction and calcification of the arteries below the knee. Peripheral neuropathy also complicates PAD, causing foot deformities and perceptual deterioration. Impaired sensory processing increases patients' vulnerability to foot injuries and subsequent infection. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential. Regular screening tests are required to monitor the condition of the peripheral circulation. Adequate dialysis, control of serum phosphorus levels, and appropriate prescriptions of antiplatelet medications are important. Self-care and foot care instructions need to be appropriately implemented.
