[ Summary ] Ophthalmic disorders in patients on hemodialysis are caused by various lesions, ranging from those on the eye surface to those in the optic nerve. Diabetic retinopathy due to diabetes mellitus, hypertensive retinopathy due to hypertension, and diverse factors such as collapse of blood electrolytes due to dialysis initiation and body fluid fluctuations. Recent trends and management of ocular disorder, which is common in patients on hemodialysis, have been described.
