[ Summary ] We outlined a nutrition management plan for pediatric patients with CKD. In children, we recommend neither caloric nor protein restricted diets in order to ensure proper growth and development. However, since proteins contain potassium and phosphorus, their excessive intake should be avoided. In hypoplastic and dysplastic kidneys, which are the most frequent causes of pediatric CKD, sodium loss in urine is commonly observed. Sodium restriction and supplementation may be necessary depending on the disease stage and condition.
