[ Summary ] The dialysis fluid quality of each facility has remarkably improved since the 2008 standard of fluids for hemodialysis and related therapies prepared by the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy. The preparation of the standard for handling the endotoxin retentive filter (ETRF) for dialysis and related therapy in 2011 and the approval of a multipurpose dialysis apparatus that can be used for online hemodiafiltration (HDF) enabled ensuring dialysis fluid quality via validation. The 2016 version of the biological contamination criteria has been modified taking into account these developments.
