[ Summary ] Diabetic nephropathy is a major chronic kidney disease. It is essential for a patient with diabetic nephropathy to be aware of the decline in kidney function and be capable of self-management. However, few patients with diabetic nephropathy perform self-management because they do not see themselves as patients. It is important for patients with diabetic nephropathy to take control of self-management. Nurses should foster a relationship that emphasizes both cure and care.
