[ Summary ] Questionnaires were sent to families of deceased patients who had undergone dialysis as well as to primary care physicians regarding terminal care delivered to patients who underwent outpatient with hemodialysis. We observed emergency care dependency among patients undergoing hemodialysis, an increasing physician burden owing to aging of primary care physicians and the possibility of terminal care for outpatient undergoing hemodialysis by primary care physicians. Terminal care can be rendered to such patients by primary care physicians provided the patient's residence in close to the physician's location, and the patient's family cooperates with the physician.
