[ Summary ] Patients with concurrent cancer while on hemodialysis for end-stage renal disease have significant stress, and require adequate psychological intervention. Some of these patients receive palliative care. In these cases, it is useful to have knowledge of the psychological aspects of hemodialysis and cancer. Actually, hemodialysis patients with cancer seldom show serious psychological symptoms. This may be partly because these patients are confident that they have adapted to their lives with hemodialysis and have high self-esteem.
