[ Summary ] Nocturnal hemodialysis is a long term hemodialysis method by which treatment during patients' sleeping hours is used. Free time is increased for patients as well providing decreased risk of fatality. Reduced complications make it possible to furnish ideal blood clarification treatment. However, due to the fact that medical fees in Japan for nocturnal hemodialysis are not changeable, the financial burden on the facility increases, preventing further implementation. Therefore, if we convert one normal dialysis session to nocturnal hemodialysis three times a week, overnight dialysis can be provided at more facilities, while minimizing the burden on those medical institutions. Furthermore, reducied the maximum interdialytic intervals may be possible.
