[ Summary ] CKD and ESRD are considered as the risk factors of carcinogenesis. Early detection and treatment of cancers, as well as infections, is important in the management of patients undergoing renal replacement therapy (RRT). The frequency of malignancy in renal transplant recipients increases from 2.5 to 5 times in healthy participants. To maintain long-term graft function, prevent cancer death with functioning graft, and ensure the health of living donors, kidney transplant recipients and living donors should undergo thorough screening for cancer before and after transplantation. However, established evidence supporting requirement of cancer screening for kidney transplant recipients is not available. Thus, future studies on the importance of screening should be conducted.
