[ Summary ] We introduced the efforts of individuals who coordinated between the renal transplant physicians and the doctors/staffs of the dialysis centers in the Hokuriku area (Ishikawa prefecture). First, since assessments conducted in both renal transplant facilities and dialysis centers are important, registrants for deceased donor kidney transplant must be annually checked by physicians of transplant facilities according to guidelines of the Japan Organ Transplantation Network for an appropriate evaluation at least once a year and for continuation of the registration. Data, such as original disease, pathological result of renal biopsy, dialysis situation, blood transfusion record, medical history and complications, and social background of the patient (address, work place, emergency contact point, etc.) who is in contact with renal transplant facilities, which should be provided by the doctors/staffs of the dialysis centers, are presented. In addition, the registration criteria for pre-emptive kidney transplantation (PEKT) in deceased donor kidney transplantation and the lectures for the staffs of the dialysis centers and the patients and their family are discussed.
