[ Summary ] A medical staff member should try to perceive the thinking process (unrest and denial, anger, business, uneasiness, dejection, reception) that is observed in a patient before and after the introduction of dialysis. Staff members must not convey a negative image of dialysis to the patient. It is important that patient, doctor, and co-medical staff plan the life of the patient. There is no manual to describe the dos and don'ts pertaining to the sense of loss with the introduction of dialysis. However, it is important to identify an episode of depression, be a good and patient listener to mitigate the patient's anxiety, and sympathize with the patient to reduce his/her uneasy feelings.
