[ Summary ] Aging has become a serious problem in Japan, and it has increased the proportion of the elderly with renal dysfunction. In clinical practice, the opportunity to see a case involving both bone and mineral metabolism disorders due to renal dysfunction and osteoporosis due to aging is increasing. However, clear targets for therapeutic intervention for these disorders in the elderly have not been established. Therapeutic targets based on an individual's condition have yet to be determined. New biomarkers such as FGF23 and Klotho have been reported and elucidation of the clinical significance of these markers is expected.
