[ Summary ] The peritoneal dialysis (PD) patient population is aging along with the general hemodialysis patient community. Therefore the number of patients requiring care has increased. Home care service is being established. A multiplicity of social resource utilizations, such as the nursing-care insurance system, is necessary to continue PD. It is very important there is a sharing of life-style values by medical staff members and home help care ser vice staff colleagues. Our goal should be for patients and their families to be able to live their lives contentedly. We present three cases illustrating treatment options, combining social resources which are different from patient to patient and the associated background of family values. We describe a PD workshop concerned with knowledge and treatement techniques in various regions.
