Publish Date 2016/09

[ Summary ] Due to the projected increase in the number of extremely old citizens in this country, the number of people who have chronic diseases causing decreased ADL such as dementia or osteoporosis will increase. Thus, medical care for both cures and support is needed. The pressing needs placed on Japan's medical care delivery system, as the population ages, have brought attention to the need for in-home care. It is expected that the number of individuals with dementia requiring help from families or visiting nurses will increase due to the increased number of people having both diabetes and dementia. By constructing an integrated community care system, talented individuals and medical caregivers can solve a number of problems through multidisciplinary cooperation. Assisted PD will play an increasingly important role in health care for the elderly.
