[ Summary ] According to the national statistical survey of up to October 2012, we have 30.79 million people over the age of 65, and 5.46 million (17.7 %) individuals receiving certified medical care. The aging of the population is now increasing rapidly. As a result, a significant increase in the number of elderly cared-persons being cared for is expected in our country. This phenomenon is similar in dialysis patients. Therefore, it is an essential issue to maintain and improve the quality of medical care. The environment surrounding the care of dialysis cared-patients is stressful. It is clear that the relationship between caregivers and patients will become more important. We had the opportunity to conduct a survey in order to grasp the facts concerning situations for the elderly, including dialysis cared-patients. We consider the major issues concerning dialysis patients.
