[ Summary ] An analysis of information related to "patient satisfaction" extracted from a survey of hemodialysis patients conducted by the Japan Association of Kidney Disease Patients in 2011 is provided. When asked how they felt about their current overall lifestyle, 73 % of the males and 88 % of the females answered that they were "satisfied" or "mostly satisfied". By understanding how hemodialysis patients feel about their daily lives as well as their medical treatment, we hope to provide a catalyst to deliver better dialysis care. The patients' degree of satisfaction is directly linked to the quality of care provided by dialysis staffs. The current "Satisfaction Survey" is subjective and its limitations should be recognized. It is essential that the results be interpreted from various perspectives.
