[ Summary ] To achieve a successful and sustainable therapeutic exercise program for dialysis patients, both medical staff members and patients should understand that a sedentary lifestyle is not safe and daily physical activity is essential for health. Then it is pragmatic and safe to start with a small increment of low-intensity daily activities, elevating the frequency and intensity gradually along with the improvement of physical abilities. No existing fixed program is adaptable to all dialysis facilities. Inventive consideration of the balance between perceived satisfaction and burden of participants and operators is the key to sustainability. Such efforts would be worthwhile for medical staff members and would contribute to the implementation of therapeutic exercise programs for dialysis patients.
