[ Summary ] Eye tracking analysis, a task analysis technique adopted for use in work studies, is recognized as a promising tool for unveiling aspects of human cognitive functions. A case study in which eye tracking analysis was applied to examine novice clinical engineers' skill/performance levels in dialysis rooms is illustrated. Considering that the tasks used in dialysis can be characterized as safety-critical as well as cognitive tasks, we suggest that applications of the work study approach, aided by eye tracking analysis, are of great importance for efficient and safe management.
