[ Summary ] A holistic paradigm employing evidence based management provides a promising approach to healthcare management in modern clinical contexts. This paradigm was used to implement dialysis facility management systems, integrating central servers of dialysis management for dialysis facilities operating on a high security network. A core part of evidence based management, which is periodic assessment of facilities, is conducted through performance measurement. This is achieved through the use of key performance indicators classified from viewpoints of major healthcare stakeholders:patients, employees, management and the general community. Management decisions should be carried out from a holistic perspective in manners combining both reactive and proactive approachs. We describe the key elements of holistic management systems, and their implementation for dialysis facilities.
