[ Summary ] The term ergonomics relates to both work science and systems science. Fundamental ergonomic disciplines may produce human-centered system designs. Accidents or health related problems often occur in relation to efficiency and economic issues. Human error is the most common cause of medical incidents. These may be the result of poor work environments rather than the direct cause of accidents. The Organization for Safety Management was created and safety related education has been carried out in medical institutions. However, the designers of work place systems must consider the relationships between rest and fatigue, including reduced worker ability during nondaylight shift work.
