[ Summary ] Although the prevalence of arrhythmias in chronic hemodialysis patients is high, some arrhythmic cases resist pharmacological treatment. Catheter ablation is a potentially effective therapeutic option for resistant arrhythmia despite optimal treatment of base disease in hemodialysis patients. No clinical studies on ablation for ventricular arrhythmias in hemodialysis patients have been reported, but some case reports on the effect of catheter ablation in hemodialysis patients have been published. The incidence of a trial fibrillation has been recently increasing and is a crucial form of tachyarrhythmia in hemodialysis patients because it can result in intolerance to the hemodynamics of maintenance hemodialysis. Catheter ablation may be effective for early-stage atrial fibrillation in hemodialysis patients. However, more-frequent ablation sessions would be required to completely cure atrial fibrillation in hemodialysis patients than in the general population.
