[ Summary ] Physical assessment includes palpation, percussion, and auscultation. Because nurses are in direct physical contact with the patient, they are able to collect information regarding the physical status of the patient. During the provision of care, nurses gain an understanding of the overall condition of the patient and determine information. Therefore, nurses provide appropriate interventions on the basis of this information, perform physical assessment, and be aware of the physical condition of the patient.
Nurses not only care for those with disease, but also support an improved quality of life and health for all people. Nurses enhance the expertise and must have excellent knowledge and technical skills to perform a proper physical assessment. With these tools, nurses have the ability to improve the health of all people.
