[ Summary ] Dietary therapy and nutritional management for dialysis patient prevention of complications such as cardiovascular disease and infectious diseases are important. A basic is to suppress progression of arteriosclerosis and maintain proper nutritional status. Dialysis patients and especially elderly dialysis patients with complications, require proactive nutritional approachs. In particular, we must teach methods for controlling blood pressure and controlling fluid levels through sodium restriction and control of blood sugar and phosphorus levels. It is also necessary for dialysis patients to prevent decreases in overall dietary intake to ensure proper daily nutriention. We must provide nutritional guidance according to the individual's condition and their life style.
