[ Summary ] Increasing incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and non-AIDS-defining cancers (NADCs) has accompanied prolongation of the survival time of HIV individuals. A multicenter study revealed that the prevalence of CKD among HIV individuals in Japan was 15.8 %. In addition, the prevalence of HIV infection among Japanese chronic dialysis patients was estimated to be 0.024 %. There was no significant difference in the mortality rates between HIV and non-HIV individuals after the initiation of chronic hemodialysis. Little is known about clinical and statistical data of NADCs among HIV individuals undergoing chronic dialysis therapy. However, the longevity of the HIV population may influence the current situation in the future.
