[ Summary ] Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Diabetes is well-known as a classical risk factor for CVD. Therefore, diabetic CKD patients have complications associated with CVD higher rates even before the initiation of dialysis. During the pre-dialysis CKD stage, careful assessment of CVD may lead to improve the prognosis of dialysis patients.
