[ Summary ] In-home dialysis has gained wide acceptance because it enables the dialysis treatments with various schedules and achievement of adequate dialysis treatment for an individual chronic dialysis patients. A number of HHD machines are introduced, including the Nx-Stage System One, with lactate removal capabilities, the SelfCare+ system with high dialysate flow rate feed water line, the S3 certification with a push-pull mode, the PAK system with a sorbent dialysate regeneration function, and the 2008K@home system, which is the same size and provides the same functions as in-clinic machines. The systems mentioned, except the PAK, are currently in use in both the US and Europe.
