[ Summary ] | Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is excellent in terms of biocompatibility with dialysis. However, treatment may be difficult when residual renal functions are gone and bodily fluids are diminished. As a result, PD plus hemodialysis (HD) used in combination therapy may improve residual renal functions and quality of life (QOL). continued PD requires a strong will and sense of empowerment on the part of the patient. |
