[ Summary ] The numbers of age dialysis patients advance yearly. Situations regarding intake of these patients have greatly changed over the past twenty years. Therefore, unless we reform and utilize dietary guidelines by considering various factors for example age and sex of the patient, it is difficult to adapt treatment practices, including nutritional management for individual patients. In clinical settings, it is necessary to set goals for individual patients. With this in mind, we need to control input of amounts of energy, protein, salt, phosphorus, and potassium. Dieticians must implement guidelines to achieve their goals of adaptating to circumstances improving maintenance and overall patient status. Even when patients' physical paramenters are the same, food absortion metabolic rates and muscle mass are multifarious. In conclusion, we must conduct systemic nutrient assessments based on treatment diet any adjustments, to achieve optimum quality of life for our patients.
