[ Summary ] |
We treated a female hemodialysis patient with senile dementia. The patient had frequent emergent admissions due to life threatening congestive heart failure due to poor fluid control. The husband usually provided daily care. However, he could not fully support her due to his advanced age. This case reconfirmed the necessity of providing medical care for patients and their families in a socio-religious context, with an emphasis on end of life procedures in emergency situations. Achieving this goal will require an increased degree of patient information sharing between all caregivers involved. |
