[ Summary ] The average age of dialysis initiation has been risen in Japan. Kidney transplantation for elderly patients should be considered for these patients. In Niigata University Hospital, the number of kidney transplants for recipients over 60 years old has consistently increased. No significant difference was observed regarding death censored graft survival between young or elderly recipients. Donations from elderly people did not affect the health of these donors. We present our data concerning kidney transplantation in addition to references previously reported.
