[ Summary ] Malnutrition is one cause of pressure ulcers. Improvements in nutritional status positively affect the clinical course for patients. The goal of NSTs for the management of pressure ulcers is to prevent development or aggravation of pressure ulcers. Intervention by NSTs is necessary to prevention pressure ulcers. To accomplish this, it is important to gather information on subjects promptly. This contributes to management of pressure by doctors, nurses, pharmacists, administrative dietitians, and physical therapists. The nutritional status and underlying diseases subjects have assessed. Then nutritional therapy and management of underlying diseases are examined to help us deliver proper nutritional levels. For the assessment of nutritional status in dialysis patients it is desirable we analyze various indexes, including serum albumin levels, rates of body weight loss, changes in dry weight, and dietary intake. The supply of nutrition for management of pressure ulcers may increase levels of blood urea nitrogen, serum phosphate and serum potassium. Therefore, monitoring of laboratory data is necessary. NSTs play important roles in this therapy.
