[ Summary ] Eijinkai Hospital is an acute care facility specializing in gastroenterology, diabetes care and nephrology. In 2002 our NST staff was the first to be established in the Tohoku region. The department of kidney disease provides team medical treatment with a concept which nutritional management should be added in dialysis therapy, before NST was established. Nutritional management methods in dialysis situation have been introduced into the PDCA management cycle. The PDCA management cycle consists of enforcement and reexamination of nutritional screening, nutritional assessment, and care plans. Although NST has been omitted, nutrition treatment has become a component of routine medical examinations.
