[ Summary ] This paper overviews the nature of qualitative research and to explain the principles of critique of qualitative research for healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses and medical engineers, etc.) in the field of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Dialysis. Qualitative research is the inductive research method to emerge the concepts explaining "the meaning and structure of the phenomenon studied" from the reality of data(human words)collected by interviews, observations, dailies, documents, etc. In the process of qualitative research critique, consistency of the philosophy, research question, purpose, method, finding and discussion is the most important. Qualitative research is usable to discover or create the new knowledge of the important phenomenon that clinicians feel in everyday work situation with patients in CKD and dialysis.
