| [ Summary ] | The goals of medical specialists for treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) include inhibiting disease progression, applying efficient methods for blood purification therapy, and maintaining better quality of life for patients. There are two main specialist groups participating end-stage CKD therapy ; fellow of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy and board certified nephrologist of the Japanese Society of Nephrology. Essential factors of the two specialist groups, including authorization systems and curricula are presented. Other matters of concern related to these specialist systems are also reviewed. | |
