[ Summary ] Dialysis clinics have the heavy responsibility of treating the majority of Japanese dialysis patients. Many of the patients treated at dialysis clinics are ambulatory or walk with assistance. However, not all have such mild conditions and various problems accompany the increasing age of these patients. The level of medical care provided by these clinics is directly related to dialysis medical care throughout Japan. Education for those involved in this work consists mainly of on-the-job-training (OJT). "Observing, discussing, listening, reading and writing", the essence of medical care can be found in our everyday work. Education is more than something that is performed by senior instructors, it is also important to create an environment where a "teach and be taught" attitude is accepted, as in a multi-layered system. This requires the awareness and willingness of those managing medical facilities.
