[ Summary ] According to the KDIGO guidelines, there is no recommended drug intervention for prevention or treatment of AKI. Diuretics are widely used to treat AKI in clinics, but are permitted only for the management of volume overload. Low dose natriuretic peptides have the possibility of becoming a therapeutic option. Further trials are required.
